Community Event - Kingston - It's time to get Wild about Wildlife!
Quinte Conservation’s education staff will be holding a Wild about Wildlife day on Thursday, August 9th, 2018 at Conservation Park, Napanee from 11am-2pm. Join us for a day of fun nature based activities!
Activities Include:
Make a paper pot and bring home a wildflower for bees and butterflies
Meet live falcons and learn about raptors
Learn about water bugs and meet some creek critters
Learn about your watershed with our watersheds model
Examine natural items at the nature discovery table
Create art in nature
Live interactive Ontario Reptiles At-Risk display
Paddling Puppeteer show starts at 11:30 am

ADMISSION: Free - Donations towards Quinte Conservation’s educational programs accepted.
In order for your child to participate in a Wild about Wildlife Day they must be accompanied by an adult.

Competition between five chefs for the best tasting slider – Churchill Meats, Iggy’s Pub & Grub, PenLakes, The Righteous Monger (Kame & Kettle) and Root & Bone (new restaurant replacing Zest). Come out to try the chef’s special sliders and vote for your favourite. Early bird tickets up until July 31 $30 includes entry, one of each of five sliders, corn, fries and a soft drink. Community Event - Niagara - Canal Days Fundraiser for Women's Place
In conjunction with Scotia Bank Port Colborne, Fokkens Tax Service will once again be holding a refreshment fundraiser during Canal Days, August 3-6, with all proceeds being donated to Women's Place South Niagara. Water, pop, jumbo Freezies, and new this year, ice cream bars, will be sold for 0.75 each! Thirty-One bags will also be sold on the weekend, with all proceeds donated as well.
Community Event - Windsor/Leamington - Pickin’ In The Park - August 7 and August 21
Tuesday August 7th & Tuesday 21st. Pickin starts 6:30pm till 9:00pm at Lakeshore Optomist Park Belle River. Everyone is welcome. Bring your instruments, lawn chair and bottle water. Please bring a canned good for the food bank if you are able. Hosted by the Essex / Kent Bluegrass, Old Time & Folk Music Association.
