With the 2018 Municipal Election on the horizon, the Town of Essex is encouraging all voters to register or update their information using a simple online form.

VoterLookup.ca gives voters the ability to quickly and easily add themselves to the voters’ list, or update their information, such as address. The service is provided by the Municipal Property Assessment Corporate (MPAC), which is responsible for producing the Preliminary Voters’ List prior to the October 22 election.

“Having an up-to-date voters’ list is crucial to holding the election and we’re asking all residents to double-check their information online before the deadline,” said Rob Auger, Town Clerk.

Residents are asked to register or update their information prior to the July 31, 2018 deadline.

To use the service, voters will be required to provide their address or assessment roll number, as well as their full name and date of birth.

“The entire process takes less than five minutes,” added Auger. “Taking the time now will make it easier for voters to cast their ballots without needing to go through the process of updating their information on Election Day.”

Voters who are unable to update their information online will still be able to contact the Town of Essex Clerk’s Department closer to Election Day.
