The new gift certificates are available at all Town of Essex recreation facilities and can be purchased in any denomination to cover the cost of a wide variety of recreational programming.
“A lot of people are looking to give experiences over things, so this is a great gift for that special someone who has everything,” said Cynthia Cakebread, Manager of Recreation and Culture. “Our programs cover everything from acrobatics and cooking, to photography and yoga.”
Recreation programs are offered to all ages and are hosted at community and recreation facilities throughout the Town of Essex. For a full list of recreation programming, gift-givers can visit essexconnect.ca

Community Event - Windsor/Leamington - To Kingsville & County With Love Free Dinner
Kingsville Community Church is hosting the 16thannual FREE holiday dinner, open to all residents in Kingsville, Cottam, Leamington, Harrow, and Essex County. The dinner will be held on Friday, December 28 at The Royal Canadian Legion, Kingsville Branch, located at 145 Division Road South, in Kingsville.
The first seating is at 4:00 pm
The second seating is at 5:30 pm
All are welcome to attend. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Please register by calling 519.733.5691 Extension 21 or go online to www.kingsvillechurch.com and complete the online registration form.
Tom Harmon, who has been coordinating this dinner for over 10 years, states that, “There are people in our community who may be alone over the holidays, or who may not be able to afford a holiday dinner. This free turkey dinner with all the trimmings is our way of bringing people together and giving back to our community.”

Community Event - Sarnia - 15th Annual Book Sale
The 15th Annual Book Sale hosted by the Rotary Club of Sarnia-Bluewaterland will take place January 11th to 13th, 2019 at theBayside Centre in Sarnia. There will be an assortment of over 30,000 used books (both hard and soft cover). Sunday is "fill a bag for $5" day. Ther is also free underground parking Friday and Saturday.
