Youth Embracing Today’s Youth is excited to announce it’s 3rd year of summer camp programming for the youth of Windsor's Glengarry area, providing a free "home away from home" during the summer holiday. Join us for our opening celebration on July 3rd at Water World Windsor - it will be fun for the whole family!

Starting July 4th, we will be utilizing available space at the Water World Center for a summer program and will continue to focus on 3 key activities – Fitness, Arts, and Culinary programs. We are also very pleased to be able to offer biweekly English as a second language classes.

Public Notices/Announcements - Windsor/Leamington - No Special Event Bus Monday Night for Tigers Game

Special event bus service to the Detroit Tigers home game on the afternoon of fireworks, June 25, will not be available due to the lack of access in the downtown areas in Detroit after 5pm. The regular Tunnel Bus service will be running every 30 minutes until 7pm from Windsor and 7:30pm from the Tunnel Plaza in Detroit. 

To attend the game that begins at 3:10pm, passengers may board the regular tunnel bus at the Windsor International Transit Terminal, located at 300 Chatham St. W. The Detroit bound bus will drop off passengers along the regular route. 

For the return to Windsor after the game, passengers will be required to make their way to the Tunnel Plaza (south of Mariner's Church). The last bus for the day will be at 7:30pm.

Some summer nights are so hot, even the wind can’t be bothered to move. What better time to head to the park with family and neighbours for a cooling fire truck sprinkler run, a visit with Sparky and a chance to meet Windsor Fire and Rescue Services and Fire Prevention staff for truck tours and fire safety information. 

Windsor Fire & Rescue Services (WFRS) will be hosting a summer-long tradition at a different park in all ten wards, each Thursday from 5:30-7:30 pm. Event details, including dates and park locations will be posted to WFRS’ website, www.windsorfire.com, and follow us on Twitter @WindsorFire1 for up-to-the-moment photos and information!

Residents have the chance to go over some lifesaving tips and reminders while getting acquainted with WFRS staff. Kids can check out the fire trucks, participate in hand-on activities, and ask any fire safety questions. The firefighters will be grilling hotdogs and providing water and orange drink which are free to those who attend on a first come, first serve basis.

We have many community partners on board this year who saw it as an exciting opportunity. Our community partners joining us this year are:  Belfor Property Restoration, Unifor 444, Stiemar Bread Co., Dowler Karn, Pro Trades, SBT Construction, Champion Paper, Culligan Water, Farron’s Meats, McDonald’s Canada (Wyandotte & Goyeau).
