July 29, showtime 11am-4pm on the downtown streets of Amherstburg. Entrance is on North St. Follow the signs along Sandwich St. $10 entry fee. First 500 cars receive dash plaques. Live entertainment, performed throughout the day on two stages by Bigg Wiggle and Party Crashers. Gates open at 7am, registration, 9am-12pm. The reason being, is that Nico, Bodega, Mezzo, La Contessa, Bacchus and Spago are serving something that’s not typically on their menu. People go wild for this one-of-a-kind experience, as this has been a sold out event for Family Respite Services over the last 5 years. “We sell 400 tickets, and we sell out in 2 days, it’s such a popular event where everyone enjoys Erie Street, while ensuring that we are an inclusive and accessible community for children with disabilities” says Alexandria Fischer, Community Relations. $65/ticket

  • June 18, 6pm–10pm at Erie Street, Windsor
  •  6-6:45pm St. Angela’s Hall (appetizers),
  •  6:45-9pm at participating restaurants
  • 9-9:45 St. Angela’s Hall (dessert)

Many families will be present at the event, sharing their respite journey at each restaurant, can you help us advocate for these families even outside of Erie Street, so that we can come together as a community and respond to the needs of children with disabilities?

Known region-wide as the place to celebrate and spend Canada Day, the Town of Amherstburg is once again gearing up for a day-long celebration on Sunday, July 1.

Festivities will be held at Fort Malden National Historic Site. The 5 km Canada D’Eh run returns to kick off the day at 9 a.m. Families will enjoy numerous free activities, including live performances, headlined by popular Ashley Lynn and the Spurs. Kid-friendly events, including pony rides, face painting, wand making, a strolling magician, and a Quidditch ball throw game – all teasers to the upcoming Amherstburg Uncommon festival in August!

To wrap up the evening, the ever popular fireworks display will light up the sky at approximately 10pm.

“Canada Day at Fort Malden NHS has become a family favourite, and a yearly tradition for the entire region,” says Jennifer Ibrahim, Tourism Coordinator. “It’s the best birthday party ever!”

On Monday, October 22 voters in the city of Windsor will elect a Mayor, Ward Councillors and School Board Trustees to represent them for the term of office beginning December 1, 2018 and ending November 14, 2022.

The City of Windsor, Elections Division is now accepting applications from Windsor and area residents to work as an Election Official at a voting location for the October 22, 2018 Municipal Election. This is a great opportunity to gain new skills and connect with your community. 

The City of Windsor will be appointing individuals to the following positions: 

  • Greeter 
  • Tabulator Officer
  • Deputy Returning Officer
  • Registration Clerk
  • Accessibility Officer
  • Parking Attendant 
  • Emergency Worker

Please note that applications will only be accepted online through the City of Windsor website, citywindsor.ca. The City invited all qualified applications to submit their application. 

How to apply?

  • Complete and submit the "Application for Election Workers 2018". This can be found on the "Election Employment Opportunities" page.
  • If you do not have access to a computer or the internet, access is available at all Windsor Public Library locations. 
  • If you require assistance to complete and submit the online application, you may visit the City of Windsor's Employment & Training Services Office located at, 400 City Hall Square East, Suite 101, Windsor, ON. Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm. Closed on Saturday and Sunday.
