Public Notices/Announcements - Kingston - Kingston's Pollinator Demonstration Garden

The second June offering in Kingston Frontenac Public Library's KFPL Live monthly speakers' series will be a talk by Maureen Williams from the Kingston Horticultural Society on the development of the City's Pollinator Demonstration Garden.

The Pollinator Demonstration Garden is a small gem of a garden.  Created in 2011 at Kingston's Memorial Centre, it shows living examples of locally successful perennials which can help attract pollinators to gardens of all sizes.  Instead of just reading about recommended species, you can visit them in place and see how they will thrive in your local climate and soil conditions.  In a time of pollinator decline, the demonstration garden is a valuable resource for individuals wanting to create their own "pollinator patch" to attract bees, butterflies and other native pollinators.

This presentation will take place at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12 at the Isabel Turner branch.  This event is open to all adults and teens, but seating is limited. To avoid disappointment, please register in advance.  Registration opens at events.kfpl.ca and by phone at (613) 549-8888 as of 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 2.  For more information visit www.kfpl.ca
