The Loft Cinema hosts Dan Buchanan, The History Guy of Brighton, with a preview of his new book "38 Hours To Montreal", at 2 pm on June 3, 2018. This unique story follows William Weller, the Stagecoach King, as he drives the Governor General from Toronto to Montreal in under 38 hours in February of 1840. Why was the Governor General in such a hurry? How could they make it in such a short time? Where did the road go in 1840? What buildings exist today that Mr. Weller would see on his trip in 1840? All these questions are answered in an entertaining and informative presentation in a comfortable venue.
