Japhy Sullivan returns to his Lanark County Roots on Saturday August 25 performing at the MERA Schoolhouse in McDonald's Corners at 8pm. Japhy is originally from Maberly and will have his brother Noah on guitar as he performs original songs and fiddle tunes focusing on traditional Irish repertoire. Tickets will also be available at the door.
This program is expanding to Smiths Falls one day per week in Smiths Falls (Thursdays). The program can accommodate up to 12 clients and includes coffee time, quote of the day, exercise, cognitive activities, group outings and individualized care plans. 5th Annual Conference - Palliative Care: The Human Experience on Wednesday, September 26, 2018.
Dr. Harvey Max Chochinov (the guru of Canadian Palliative Care) will be the keynote speaker to lead off the discussion this year.
Dr. Chochinov is internationally recognized for his work in leading the research team that pioneered the Dignity Model and Dignity Therapy. He is a Distinguished Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Manitoba and is the Director of the Manitoba Palliative Care Research Unit, Cancer Care Manitoba.
Dr. Chochinov’s publications addressing psychosocial dimensions of palliation have helped to establish and define core competencies and standards of end-of-life care.]
We are reaching out to our provincial Hospices to help us share in the discussion. We believe that our conference would be great day of professional learning for clinicians, nurses and social work staff.
