Community Event - Kingston - Displaced and Relocated Voices: Newcomer Stories
Kingston Frontenac Public Library and KEYS Job Centre are excited to present Displaced and Relocated Voices: Newcomer Stories of Struggles and Success.
Newcomers to Kingston will share their struggles of displacement from their home countries and their achievements in relocating and integrating into Kingston, their new home.
This free public event will be held in the City Council Chambers beginning at 6:30 p.m., on Monday, June 25, followed by a meet-and-greet in Memorial Hall — complete with musical performances by Rafael Ivan, savory snacks from Syria, and table displays.
The event will provide Kingstonians with an opportunity to hear moving personal stories of triumph and challenge in a way few other events can provide. Join KEYS and your public library to listen, learn and support newcomers who are making Kingston a dynamic global city as we head into Canada Day.
All ages are welcome.
Where: Kingston City Hall, 2nd Floor, Council Chamber and Memorial Hall
When: Monday, June 25, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
