The Town of Tecumseh is undertaking a 5-Year Update to the Parks & Recreation Master Plan and will be holding public open houses later this month to share information on work completed to date.

The open houses are scheduled as follows:

Monday, May 28, 3-7pm at Tecumseh Arena, 12021 McNorton St. and Wednesday, May 30, 3-7pm at Maidstone Recreation Centre, 10720 County Road 34

“We are looking forward to sharing details on our accomplishments over the last five years with the public,” said Paul Anthony, Director Parks & Recreation. “These public sessions will provide an opportunity for the public to see what we have implemented in our parks and facilities as well as programming. It will also be a chance for the public to see what is ahead for us, including the proposed Multi-Use Sportsplex Facility.”

The Parks & Recreation Master Plan was approved by Council in 2011 and has helped guide investment in the Town’s parks, recreation, trails and sports system. The Plan ensures parks, recreation, trails and sports services keep pace with the Town’s population growth, emerging interests, and provide Tecumseh residents with choices to be active for life.

The two open houses will outline projects completed since the Master Plan was introduced and share details on upcoming projects. Staff will also be on hand to discuss the status of the proposed Multi-Use Sportsplex. The open houses will be followed by meetings with local sports groups and members of Council in early June. The community is encouraged to attend the sessions and provide comments on completed work as well as suggestions on future projects planned.

Information on this and all Town of Tecumseh news and events is available at www.tecumseh.ca, www.tecumsehapp.ca, Twitter (@TownofTecumseh), and Facebook www.facebook.com/townoftecumseh.
