Cognitively Nuanced is a workshop series that engages the talents and experiences of artists living with traumatic brain injuries (TBI).  Members of the TBI community experience the spaces and paths of the city in many different ways; Cognitively Nuanced provides them with an opportunity to explore and share their experiences of traversing the city through multidisciplinary expression.  The workshops, led by Wes Ryan, with the assistance of facilitators Melissa Addison Webster, Kay’la Fraser, and Fraser MacDonald, were hosted at the Brain Injury Association Peterborough Region (BIAPR).  The artworks and ideas developed in these workshops are displayed in the windows of the BIAPR on Charlotte Street in Cognitively Nuanced: Neuro-divergent perspectives on a burgeoning urban landscape.  Other content that examines the ways neuro-divergent people navigate Peterborough has been adapted into works of theatre and spoken word and will be performed throughout Artsweek.
