It’s time to mark your calendars so you don’t miss this event.  The Enforcers are back to bringing you a fantastic night of dancing to help raise funds for mentoring programs in our community. The rare appearance by The Enforcers is taking place on Saturday April 21, 2018 at the Victoria Park Armoury 210 Kent St. West in Lindsay at 8:00 pm. Tickets are $15 each and are available at the Big Brother Big Sister office, A Buy & Sell Shop and The Pita Pantry/Common Grounds during the preceding weeks of the Dance. The Enforcers provide a great mix of blues based music that will keep you on the dance floor all night.  Everyone that attends will also have the chance to win a door prize.

Doug Saunders of The Enforcers says “We cover Eric Clapton, George Thorogood, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Bob Marley, Howlin Wolf, John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, The Temptations, The Rolling Stones. etc. Let’s say the blues sound that originated in Mississippi, Texas and Chicago, then throw in some Motown, Rhythm and Blues, Boogie and Reggae.” Food will also be available through a food vendor; Sugar & Spice Catering has come on board to prepare a variety of items for people to purchase.

All proceeds from this event will stay in our community which helps Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kawartha Lakes-Haliburton address the ongoing funding challenges the organization has in providing mentoring programs.  This support allows children and youth, who can benefit from a friendship with a caring adult mentor, the opportunity to access these valuable programs.

For more information on this dance please contact Big Brothers Big Sisters at 705-324-6800.

In partnership with the Pet and Wildlife Rescue, the Caturday Cat Café will be held at the Chatham Branch on Saturday, March 24 from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm.

Stop by the Chatham Branch meeting room to meet volunteers from Chatham Pet and Wildlife Rescue and their furry friends. Play or snuggle with some adorable kitties for fifteen minutes while you learn about the work that the Pet and Wildlife Rescue does in the community and how you can help.

Children 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult.  For the wellbeing of the animals, staff will have to limit the number of participants allowed in the Café at one time to 16.  Patrons may have to wait to enter the Café if the meeting room reaches capacity.

Advanced tickets for the Café can be reserved starting March 19. A limited number of standby tickets will also be available starting at 9:30 am on Saturday, March 24. Call 519.354.2940 for more details.
