The Renfrew Lions Club invites you to an Open House on Wednesday, April 9th, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at Valley Heritage Radio, 3009 Burnstown Road, Renfrew.

Who are Lions? Lions are ordinary people doing extraordinary things—making a real difference in our community and around the world.

During the evening, the club will also be sorting and packing used eyeglasses, which will be cleaned and distributed to those in need across the globe. Come lend a hand and be part of this meaningful effort!

Want to learn more about what Lions do both locally and internationally? This is a great chance to connect with members and discover how you can get involved.

As Helen Keller once said, “The best and most beautiful things in life cannot be seen or even heard—they must be felt with the heart.” The feeling you get after making a difference in someone’s life is what being a Lion is all about.

Come out, get involved, and help make a difference in your community.

Join us April 24th at 6 pm for cocktails, 7 pm for dinner at the Oakville Conference Centre for a three course meal, good company, and a talk "Excess in Our Time" by Paul Berton, editor-in-chief of Metroland Media newspapers and websites, including Hamilton Spectator and London Free Press.

A journalist for four decades, he has written for many newspapers and magazines in Canada, and is the author of two books of non-fiction, Shopomania: Our Obsession with Possession; and Misfortune and Fame: 10 Reasons You Don’t Want to be Rich (or Famous).

Using humorous anecdotes about the rich and famous, Berton will tell us why money, fame and stuff are a double-edged sword, and how living a simple life can make people happier, the environment healthier and society better.

The Kingston Symphony finishes the 2024-2025 season in the most remarkable way we can, with a tribute to one of history’s greatest composers: Maurice Ravel. Our composer festival examines Ravel’s brilliance. From the clarity and innovation of his Tombeau de Couperin to the stunning beauty of his Piano Concerto in G Major courtesy of Avan Yu, pianist extraordinaire, to his Mother Goose Ballet - which concludes in perhaps the single most glorious passage of music ever written - Ravel is a master of melody! Join us for an unforgettable season finale.
