Rob Mikel, Cobourg's award winning premier historian, will give an illustrated talk on Cobourg’s Gilded Age: Summer Colony and Grand Cottages. To an earlier generation Cobourg was something more than a pretty little lakeside town, it was the destination of choice for throngs of prosperous Americans, who called their adopted town “the Newport of the North”. The presentation will be illustrated with photos, past and present, of the grand hotels and mansions. Presented by Victoria Hall Volunteers the event will be held on Thursday April 5th in the Concert Hall, Victoria Hall, Cobourg. Doors open at 6:45 pm, the lecture begins at 7:30. No reserved seating. Tickets are $20 (plus handling and HST) which includes the presentation and refreshments. 8:15 pm, at Canterbury Gardens, in Peterborough Ontario. Come and join us for an
evening with the Peterborough Concert Band.
Sarnia’s Sursum Corda Christian Men’s choir will host the 2018 Festival of Praise concert featuring guest choirs from Woodstock, St. Thomas, Chatham and Clinton. The Master of Ceremonies for the evening will be Myles Vanni. The concert will be at 7 PM on Saturday April 21st at First Christian Reformed Church, 1105 Exmouth St., Sarnia. Admission is $15. Cycling Season is almost here, and the Northumberland Hills Cycling Club ("NHCC") is holding a pre-season Membership Night at The Mill Restaurant (990 Ontario St., Cobourg).
