Pro-Cathedral of the Assumption CWL General Meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 2nd, 2018, at 7 p.m. in the Parish Hall.  The meeting includes a Spiritual Development Program, Business Meeting and a Social.  New members are always welcome.

Join us for Movies Under the Stars, a 10 week series of free outdoor movie screenings this summer on Thursday nights by the Rideau Canal in beautiful Centennial Park (under the Water Tower) in Smiths Falls.

Bring the family and a blanket or a lawn chair and spend your summer evening watching a family-friendly FREE movie on the big inflatable screen.

Pre-show activities start at 7:00 pm with movie starting at dusk (usually around 9:20 pm in July and by the end of August around 8:30 pm). These activities are organized by our community partners and change week to week. In the past groups have had games, facepainting, pony rides, sidewalk chalk on the road, colouring table, lego, bubbles, crafts, bouncy castles and have even brought in Little Ray’s Reptiles Show, Magic Shows and Live Musicians. So it changes from week to week but there is always something to keep you entertained before the show.

Concession stand opens at 7:00 p.m. selling hot dogs, popcorn, chips, cold drinks, and cotton candy with .50 cents from every $1.00 going to our community partner.

The mission of Movies Under the Stars is help foster a sense of community and enjoyment in Smiths Falls by bringing people together to enjoy a movie in a unique setting along the scenic banks of the Historic Rideau Canal. Note 1: RAIN/HIGH WINDS: Sorry but the movie will be cancelled if there is rain, possibility of rain or high winds. The decision to cancel a movie will be made between 3-5 pm and posted on our Facebook Page and on our website. Please NO PHONE CALLS check Facebook or website.

Note 2: PARKING: There is a large parking lot under the water tower that can be accessed from Old Mill Road. You can also park at the Swimming area on Park Street, park on Main St. East, George St. S. and Strathcona Ave and walk over to the park. Confederation Drive is blocked off from 6:30pm till 11:00pm for the safety of all.

The Ladies Guild of Trinity Anglican Church located at 1194 Murphy Road (beside Tim Horton’s) is holding their annual Garage and Bake Sale on Saturday May 12th. The doors open at 9:00am and close at 1:00pm. To arrange a table please contact Joan Lake at 519-542-3559
