Belleville Public Library's Adult Chess Club is for ages 18 and up. The club meets every second Monday (bi-weekly) at 5:30pm. Bring your own chess board or borrow one from the library and meet with fellow chess players for a friendly game. All skill levels are invited to this informal, self-led program.

Knitterati is Belleville Public Library's knitting circle. Bring your current project to work on while you chat with fellow knitters, crocheters, cross-stitchers and other fibre arts crafters. Whether it's your first time casting-on or you've been at it for a lifetime, all levels of skill and all ages are welcome.  

Knitterati meets every Wednesday at 5:30pm in the second floor Reading Nook.

Celebrate International Women’s Day 2024 with us! Belleville Public Library is excited to host trailblazing aviation professional Lola Reid Allin for a special presentation, Highway to the Sky: Women in Aviation.

Airplanes and adventure have captivated men —and women—for centuries. Despite this shared passion, men dominate the industry as airline pilots, flight instructors, maintenance and aerospace engineers, and in management positions. Discover the origins of this imbalance and why it persists, and learn how YOU can become a pilot and be part of the sea change currently happening in aviation and other STEM careers.

Lola Reid Allin Is a Commercial Airline Transport Pilot, Flight Instructor, Scuba Dive Master, and an award-winning author and photographer whose work has appeared in many notable publications (in print & online) including National Post, Globe & Mail, and National Geographic, and in national and international juried shows. Lola’s professional aviation affiliations include Women in Aviation International, The 99s: International Organization of Women Pilots, and the Northern Lights Aero Foundation.

Community Event - Sarnia - St. Andrew's Pancake Lunch

We are so excited to invite you to our Pancake Tuesday Lunch! There'll be generous helpings of pancakes and syrup, sausages, tea/coffee and Jello, all for only $12 per person. And kids under ten eat free!

Get your tickets at the door on Tuesday, February 13. Lunch starts at 11:30am and continues until 1:30pm or we run out of pancake batter...whichever happens first! Entry is through the accessible side door off our driveway.

Hope to see you at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 261 Christina St. N., Sarnia beside City Hall!
