The Playhouse Build & Auction in support of the Kristen French Child Advocacy Centre Niagara Event is held each spring. This year the event will take place on Sunday April 29, 2018 from 11AM - 4PM in the Pen Centre parking lot. Local Niagara Builders volunteer their time to compete & build backyard playhouses that are auctioned off to the community to raise funds for the Kristen French Child Advocacy Centre Niagara. During the building competition, the event is expanded to include a BBQ, Food Vendors, Games & Activities for the children and families attending to stay & play and be in attendance at the end of the afternoon to participate in the Live Auction. All proceeds from the event go directly to the Centre to support much needed programs & services for children & youth victims of abuse. Expanded event to include food vendors, inflatables, face painting, and other fair like activities for the whole family to enjoy!
The Chatham Branch of CKPL is holding their annual Spectacular Spring Used Book Sale from May 23 to May 26. The sale kicks off Wednesday, May 23 with our special $5 preview night from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Shoppers at this special preview night will have the opportunity to be the first to browse and purchase from our amazing collection of gently used books. The bargains then continue for the rest of the week!

The 9th annual Windsor Star Raise-a-Reader book sale taking place on April 28 (9am to 6pm), April 29 (12pm to 5pm) and May 5 (9am to 6pm) at Windsor Crossing Premium Outlets. The sale has a wide collection of new and gently used books of all genres and age groups at great prices. By purchasing a book you help support literacy initiatives in Windsor-Essex.
New and gently used books can be donated for the sale at any Canadian Tire within Windsor-Essex until April 22nd. Encyclopaedias, Magazines, Reader’s Digest, Textbooks and National Geographic will not be accepted. Books cannot be donated during the sale period.
Since 2010, the Raise-A-Reader Book sale has helped to raise over $152,700 with all funding remaining in Windsor and Essex County.

All funds go to spay/neuter in the Niagara Region.
