Join Mayor Drew Dilkens on Friday, May 4, 10am at the François Baby House to unveil a new display: 60 Years of Your Community Museum! featuring an overview of the Museum’s history.
Originally called the Hiram Walker Historical Museum, Museum Windsor first opened its doors on May 7, 1958 in the nationally designated François Baby House. The property dates back to 1812 and went through extensive renovations to prepare it for its new role as a museum. Today, Museum Windsor has grown to include the historic François Baby House and the Chimczuk Museum. Also that day, the contents of a time capsule created in 1988 will also be opened. To mark the occasion, sealed letters from the time capsule will be opened and read for the first time in 30 years!
Celebrations continue on Saturday, May 5, 10am to 5pm. Stop by the François Baby House to see the new display and receive an old fashioned candy stick (while supplies last).
