Correctional Services offers a challenging and exciting career to those interested in making a difference in their communities and their province. We are looking for people from all backgrounds to join Ontario’s correctional services team.
Basic Requirements
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Eligible to work in Canada
- Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma or equivalent
- The ability to acquire certification in Emergency First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- The ability to work shiftwork.
- The ability to work with inmates (once trained).
Selected applicants must successfully complete each stage of the selection process:
- Ministry administered aptitude, cognitive ability and behavioural tests
- Fitness Test for Ontario Correctional Officer Applicants (FITCO)
- Enhanced security clearance process
- Interview and reference checks
- Pre-employment medical exam
- Correctional Officer Training and Assessment (COTA) program
