Community Event - Chatham - The Veranda Presents William Blake: Poet & Artist
Come hear William Blake's poems, see his paintings, and learn about his life. This event is presented by "The Veranda". Visit the Chatham Branch on Thursday, April 26 at 2:00 pm to learn about the British artist William Blake. William Blake (1757-1827) is a rarity. He is equally as famous as a poet and as a painter. His "Songs of Innocence", "Songs of Experience" and prophetic poems are still widely read. One critic calls him, "far and away the greatest artist Britain has ever produced." This is a free event. The reader will be Clair Culliford.

Community Event - Peterborough/Lindsay - "Under The Stars" with PAA & Alloy Fusion
“The Peterborough Astronomical Association (PAA), is excited to work with the Alloy Fusion Handbell Ensemble, Cobourg and be part of their inaugural fundraising dinner/handbell concert/stargazing event, April 28th, 2018, at the Ganaraska Forest Centre, Campbellcroft. As part of the “Under the Stars” event, the PAA will follow the dinner/handbell concert, offering an open-air guided tour to the mysteries of the night sky. Telescopes will be provided and everyone will be invited to view the stars and moon up close and in person. Warm clothing and comfortable footwear are recommended for this part of the program. In the event of poor weather, the PAA will present a dazzling indoor show that will take you on a cosmic voyage from the comfort of your chair.
