A Dora Award WINNER and hailed "Canada's Queen of Cabaret" by CTV's "etalk", Gabi is best known for playing Audrey in the 2019 Stratford production of "Little Shop of Horrors", Fanny Brice in the Segal Centre and Harold Green Jewish Theatre's productions of "Funny Girl", Mirvish’s “Once”, Countess Charlotte Malcolm in Koerner Hall's production of "A Little Night Music" opposite Will and Grace star Eric McCormack, and of course Roz and Maleficent respectively in the Capitol Theatre's hit productions of "9 to 5: The Musical" and "Sleeping Beauty: A Naughty Panto Awakening".

Her solo show “Gabs Sings Babs” has been performed at Globus Theatre, the Port Stanley Festival Theatre, and Theatre Collingwood and will make its cross country debut at the Winnipeg Jewish Theatre in January.

Evangeline Gentle is a Scottish-Canadian internationally acclaimed folk-pop songwriter, performer and vocalist based in Ontario, Canada. Contemplative and affecting, Evangeline’s lyrics evoke lush emotional landscapes within the listener and seek to unite audiences with a sense of “sameness”. A celebration of queerness and queer culture is woven throughout Gentle’s upcoming release Where The Diamonds Are, best heard on singles “Gay Bar” and “Bad Girls”. On this she says “While many have never been to a gay bar, most know the euphoria of getting dressed up to go out dancing with friends. We are inextricably connected by our shared emotional, human experience. I love that songs remind us of this.”

Produced by Jim Bryson (Kathleen Edwards), and mastered by Grammy-nominated engineer Philip Shaw Bova (Bahamas, Feist), her 2020 debut self-titled release earned international praise. Gentle was interviewed by legendary host Scott Simon on NPR’s Weekend Edition Saturday, appeared in Forbes, and received radio play on BBC, CBC, SiriusXM and more.

Evangeline supported headliner Donovan Woods at the 2021 Mariposa Folk Festival, with other standout performances including those at Maverick Festival (UK) and Static Roots Festival (Germany) in 2022. She has supported acts such as Kathleen Edwards, Whitehorse, Tim Baker, Begonia, Terra Lightfoot, Basia Bulat, Craig Cardiff, and Sarah MacDougall.

“Evangeline Gentle's self-titled album is a triumph” - Exclaim!

“A conscious and gifted lyricist whose warmhearted style belies a vulnerable strength” - Under The Radar

From The Metropolitan Opera and Cineplex Events, we bring you an encore presentation of Dead Man Walking on the big screen at the Capitol.

American composer Jake Heggie’s compelling masterpiece, the most widely performed new opera of the last 20 years, arrives in cinemas on October 21 in a haunting new production by Ivo van Hove. Based on Sister Helen Prejean’s memoir about her fight for the soul of a condemned murderer, Dead Man Walking matches the high drama of its subject with Heggie’s beautiful and poignant music and a brilliant libretto by Terrence McNally. Met Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin takes the podium, with mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato starring as Sister Helen. The outstanding cast also features bass-baritone Ryan McKinny as the death-row inmate Joseph De Rocher, soprano Latonia Moore as Sister Rose, and legendary mezzo-soprano Susan Graham—who sang Helen Prejean in the opera’s 2000 premiere—as De Rocher’s mother.

The ensemble includes the rock band, Michael White and The White, along with special guest violinists. They will also be joined onstage by the Cobourg Collegiate Music Department conducted by Peter Riccio. Together onstage they create a magical space to share with audiences as they perform new and exciting arrangements of the greatest hits of Led Zeppelin. These orchestral arrangements remain true to the rockin’ spirit of the music while incorporating a unique symphonic sensibility that creates a classic new vibe that comes alive in its’ own right.

This musical production is an incredible sound experience and visual extravaganza complete with a psychedelic liquid light show projected in high definition with a retro kaleidoscope of colour burst images designed to transport your mind to an alternate space and time. This classic rock live concert will have even the most ardent Zeppelin and Who fans cheering for more.

“Michael White plays it best!”- Jimmy Page

“Michael White sings Led Zeppelin, I sing Robert Plant.”- Robert Plant

"Very entertaining show. Remarkably similar to Zeppelin, with a solid and accurate sound.” - Toronto Sun

“This isn’t an orchestral show with a rock element, it’s a rock band featuring an orchestra.” - Globe and Mail
