The 12th Annual Classic Albums Christmas concert in support of The Hope Centre is featuring their biggest show at the biggest venue in Welland. The event is happening on Saturday, December 9 at the Croatian National Home in Welland, starting at 8 pm.

This is a one-time only opportunity to hear these specific Classic Rock albums from the 80’s & 90’s played by local musicians from across Niagara. The albums that will be played in their entirety are Van Halen's 1984, Green Day's Dookie, Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill, and Incubus's Make Yourself.

Tickets will also be available at the door for $25 (cash only)

A 50/50 will be held at the event with a chance to win up to $1,000.

All proceeds will support The Hope Centre and will provide much needed funds for our food security programs.

St. John's Presbyterian Church is hosting a Community Carol service on Sunday, December 17th at 7:00pm; with special guest choir from Knox-St. Paul's United Church.  Join us for an evening of readings and songs for Christmas.  Donations of non-perishable food items for Agape will be gratefully received.  All are welcome

St James Church presents “Advent to Christmas: a candlelight service of readings and music” on Sunday 10 December at 4:30pm. A selection of seasonal hymns will be sung, and the choir will sing anthems by John Carter and Malcolm Archer. St James Church is at 10 Union St in Kingston, on the Queen’s campus.

Wyoming Lioness Lions is holding a Vender Event during Christmas in the Village on December 9th from 10 am - 3 pm at the Wyoming Lions Hall, 554 Main Street, Wyoming and the Royal Canadian Legion, 493 Erie Street, Wyoming with over 60 venders selling their merchandise. This would be a great opportunity to buy your Christmas gifts for your loved ones or purchase delicious homemade baking. You will also be able to purchase lunch at each location so you can continue with your shopping. Raffle tickets for our Christmas Basket valued at $500 filled with coffee, tea, wine, chocolates, hot chocolate, honey, etc. will also be available for sale. Lived Experience & Recovery Network (LERN) FREE Youth Peer Support Training Program, of Brief Introduction to Peer Support Training. For ages of 12 - 18, that reside in the Nipissing District.

NEXT training dates: VIRTUALLY: Jan. 31st, Feb. 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th and Mar. 6th from 4:30pm - 7:30pm on Zoom! *It is mandatory to attend ALL training dates.

On Tuesday, December 12, 4:00pm – 8:00pm, outside of No Frills on Lakeshore Dr., LERN will be hosting an information session as we chat about our upcoming FREE Youth Peer Support Training Program! This will be an opportunity where folks can ask questions, receive further info & meet the trainers! Unable to attend? No problem, contact us and we can arrange a time to connect!

LERN is grateful for this Grow Grant Project we have been gifted from Ontario Trillium Foundation to provide this free training for youth (ages 12 – 18), as well as the opportunity to partner with the Centre for Innovation in Peer Support.

This training program will empower youth to take on leadership roles to by learning an insight into the skills and tools of a youth Peer Support Ambassador within their peer communities, helping themselves and others in their own recovery & wellness. This project will create meaningful engagement for youth within the community.

Those who are current high school students, will be able to receive 10 hours towards high school volunteer hours upon completion of this training.

Anyone raising a child that isn't your own Ex. grandchild, niece, nephew or a Kinship Family is invited to our monthly support meetings. They are held on the second Wednesday of each month. So December 13th is our next meeting. We hold our meetings at the Point Edward Early Learning Centre - 213 Michigan Ave Point Edward/Sarnia (across from the Firehall).  Just go in the front door and downstairs from 6:30 to 7:30pm. Coffee and small snack is provided. Daycare is provided for the meeting so bring the children. We are a non-profit organization.
