Come out & enjoy an evening at Perth Legion with a roast beef dinner ($20) 5-7 PM; tickets must be purchased prior to Sept. 8 from Perth Legion office (613-267-4400) or contact Sue Doran (613-264-0046); Harry Adrain & Friends will entertain in Perth Legion lounge from 5-9 PM; fun darts & cornhole in the hall 7-10 PM

An evening to meet Veterans, Veteran banner families, citizens of Perth & even a couple retired NHLers!

This follows our Veterans Fundraiser Golf Tournament held at Mapleview G&CC with a shotgun start at 11 AM Friday, Sept. 22, ($75)  to raise funds for Veterans' House Canada - the Andy Carswell Building in Ottawa - for homeless Veterans - if interested in the golf tournament, call Sue Doran (613-264-0046)

This is our celebration of Veterans weekend after installing 341 Veteran banners throughout Perth

Meet up BEHIND PERTH MEWS MALL
Lots of eateries at the mall (Tim Hortons, Independent, Guac Mexi Grill, A&W, Pizza Hut, St. Louis Bar & Grill, Subway, Starbucks)
Kickstands up 1:40 PM
Bikes will travel the Pathway of Heroes (341 Veteran banners) as well as visiting 4 seniors' homes where several Veterans reside. At the conclusion of the parade, which ends at Perth Legion, there is limited parking. Additional parking is available at the Curling Club, across the bridge, on the left.
Perth Legion will be providing complimentary hot dogs & snacks. (Thanks to Independent, Metro, Giant Tiger)
Cold beverages will be available for purchase on the patio or in the lounge.
Hall of Remembrance will be open from 1:00 PM
Added to the Legion site this year will be a local chainsaw carver (Andrew Schouwstra from Against the Grain Outdoors - Lanark) who will be carving a Veteran-themed masterpiece throughout the day. Upon its completion, the carving will be donated to the raffle draw taking place at the Legion on Sunday, Sept. 24. Other works of art carved by Andrew will be available for purchase during the day.
Please invite all your motorcycle friends. Everyone is welcome & encouraged to honour & celebrate our Veterans!

Community Event - Peterborough/Lindsay - 3rd Annual Story Reading in the Park

The East Peterborough Lions are hosting their 3rd Annual Story Reading in the Park at the Cameron Street Tot lot in Peterborough. The Lions bring in Special guest speakers to speak to the children about different serivices and organizations thoroughout the community and what they do. The event is held every Wednesday in August with a different theme each week. This theme for August 9th is "Sports" and the guest speakers will be from Special Olympics here in Peterborough. 

Following the speaker a story is read to the children and we then choose 9 children to receive a brand new copy of the book that was read. Then a light luncheon is provided for all the children. The event takes place from 11:00 AM till 1:00 PM and every child is invited to come and join us.

Community Event - Quinte - Intro to 3D Printing Course

Intro to 3D Printing 

Wednesdays 6:00-7:00pm | September 6, 13 & 20 | Board Room ​

In this 3 week course participants will learn the basics of 3D printing technology,  design a simple object using TinkerCAD, and print a small object on the library's MakerBot Replicator+ 3D printer.

Community Event - Quinte - Cricut Drop In Hours at Belleville Library

Stop by the library for this Drop-In program and use the library's Cricut Maker machine, Mug Press and Easy Press 2. Bring your own supplies or purchase from our selection of materials. 

Use of the equipment is first come, first served. You will need a valid Belleville Public Library card and you will be asked to sign a waiver.  Youth ages 16 and younger will require a parent/guardian to sign the waiver.

If you would like to use the Cricut Maker cutting machine, we recommend creating your own Cricut Design Space account and preparing your design before arriving at the library. During drop-in hours you can connect your laptop to the Library’s Cricut Maker, or you can sign into your Cricut account from the library’s laptop that is connected to the Cricut Maker.

The Collective meets every other Thursday in the Library’s 2nd floor Board Room.
