Community Care’s Active Living Programs – get your membership today
The Active Living Programs (ALP) are offered by The Prince Edward County Community Care for Seniors Association. Through this initiative Community Care offers fitness, social and recreational activities both online and close to where seniors live. Membership in ALP is available to seniors 60+ for $25.00/year/person. Membership benefits include: full access to all programs and events (some programs may have additional fees); meet new friends; discover a new hobby, skill or talent; receive monthly updates of programs via email or a phone call for people without email. Rock Painting August 30th at Macaulay House in Picton
At 1pm on Wednesday, August 30th, seniors 60+ are invited to enjoy rock painting and conversation. This event will take place in the Stone Room located behind Macaulay House, 23 Church Street, Picton. Rock painting kits will be provided and no experience is necessary. Registration is required. Don’t miss a chance to come together outside and participate in a fun craft event. It’s also a chance to meet Community Care staff. Fun with Flags In-Person event August 16th – Bloomfield
Join Rob Leek, amateur vexillologist for fun with flags. Learn about flags from across Canada and from around world, have a discussion about heraldry, and what makes a great flag design. This in-person event will take place on Wednesday, August 16th at Bloomfield Town Hall, 289 Main Street at 1:00pm. Registration is required. Public Notices/Announcements - Quinte - Curbside Pick-Up Take Out Meals, For those 60+
Curbside pickup meal for seniors on August 24th, 2023 – pick up in Waupoos
Prince Edward Community Care holds monthly curbside pick-up of meals. The August event is on Thursday, August 24th, 2023 and the pick up location is Waupoos. Chef Bill Grieve of Wheelhouse and Occasions Catering is preparing a scrumptious meal of homemade soup, a roll, Chicken Swiss, rice, vegetables, and lemon meringue pie for dessert. The cost is $18.00/meal and seniors 60+ can order by calling the Community Care office at 613-476-7493. All meals must be paid for in advance. Meals will be packaged hot and ready to be picked up at North Marysburgh Town Hall, 2699 County Road 8, Waupoos. Only those who preorder and pay will be served.
