Milton Historical Society will host its annual Gourmet & Spirits Fundraising Dinner on Tuesday October 17 and Tuesday October 24, 2023, at 6 p.m. at La Toscana Restaurant, 165 Main Street East in beautiful downtown Milton. This year's theme is The Show Must Go On, featuring a presentation by noted local historian John McDonald about the history of entertainment, arts and culture in Milton. The cost is $90 per person. The Friends of the Peterborough Public Library will host their Fall Book Sale on Friday, October 20th and Saturday, October 21st. The Sale begins on Friday at 12:00 noon and continues until 7 p.m. The hours on Saturday are 10:00 a.m. until 3 pm. There will be rare books dating from the early 20th century right through to current bestsellers. Many categories of non-fiction books can be found and we offer a varied selection of mysteries. We have a wide array of children’s books from baby’s first book to young adult fiction. Whatever category of book you're looking for, there's a good chance you'll find it at our Sale. The earlier you come, the better your chances. All proceeds from our sale will be donated to the Peterborough Public Library for special programming. We look forward to seeing you there.

On July 14th, 2023, John Dorsch's original 15 song debut album titled "ELEVATiON" was released by MTS Records on Spotify, Apple Music and deezer streaming platforms.

In celebration of the release, John Dorsch Music is hosting a concert at the Studio Theatre, 63 Gore St. E. Perth on Sunday August 20th, 2023 from 2 - 4pm.  Tickets are $20 available in advance through Eventbrite.ca, or cash at the door after 1 pm on the date of the show.  Ticket holders will receive the gift of an ELEVATiON CD!

John Dorsch and Dani Baribeau are a husband and wife team performing live in an acoustic duo.  They will perform all 15 original songs from the ELEVATiON album live in concert in acoustic format.  There will be stories about the music and sharing.  John sings and plays acoustic guitars and Dani sings in harmony and plays a djembe drum with percussion instruments.  The successful duo has been performing at area indoor and outdoor venues, restaurants, patios and pubs.  Musical stylings are pop/rock, fingerstyle and originals.  Their vibrant performance is well suited to any venue.

The lead single from ELEVATiON titled, "Faith In Me" reached number 1 on July 5th, 2023 on the UK iTunes Top 100 Folk/Rock singles chart

Hutchison House will host the 31st  annual Peach Tea on Thursday, August 17th   from noon to 4pm.  Enjoy the feeling of an old time summer social, as you indulge in an afternoon of home-baked scones served with fresh peaches and whipped cream or ice cream, topped with blueberries.  Tea, iced tea, or lemonade will add a refreshing compliment to this delightful summer repast.

Tickets for the Peach Tea must be booked in advance at a cost of $14.00 for adults/ $10.00 for children. There will be NO drop in seats. Sittings are 12pm, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm. Space is limited. The doors at WETRA will open at 12:00 to allow people to tour the barns and visit with the animals.  Two food trucks will be on site for lunch or snacks.  The Border City Barkers will perform at 2:00 followed by the Off Kilter trick riders.  The Musical Ride begins at 3:30.  This is a very special event that comes to this area only every few years.
