It affects the digestive system and lungs. It is a genetic disease when the child inherits two abnormal genes, one from each parent. 1 in every 25 Canadians carries an abnormal version of the CF gene. Cystic Fibrosis is detected via a 'sweat test' by a doctor which measures the salt content in one's sweat.

Stan Bergeron has great satisfaction in introducing us to the works of W. F. Stidworthy, a renowned LaSalle, Ontario artist (1889-1977). For over 40 years he has been collecting over 222 water colour and oil paintings of rural landscapes and landmarks that he has seen as a child and young family man living in LaSalle.

William Stidworthy came to Canada in 1912 to further study and work under such famous artists as William Beatty, Ralph MacMillan, Franz Johnston (of the Group of Seven) and Carl Schaefer.

You can find out more about Stan Bergeron and his collection of William F. Stidworthy's paintings online.
