Public Notices/Announcements - Muskoka - Chub Downey Lane Reconstruction in Bracebridge

Submitted by sjohnson on

The Town of Bracebridge has partnered with the District Municipality of Muskoka (District) for the reconstruction of Chub Downey Lane from Hiram Street to James Street. The project will commence Wednesday, April 26, 2023 and is expected to be substantially completed by late June 2023.

Fowler Construction Company Limited, under contract with the District, will be completing the project. District staff will administer the contract and provide site inspection services during construction.

The reconstruction project will entail replacement of the sanitary sewer and watermain infrastructure, and reconstruction of the road from Hiram Street to James Street. Temporary water services will be installed by the Contractor prior to the start of the major construction. Residents will receive notification from the District of any water and sewer service interruptions.

Chub Downey Lane and Chub Downey Parking Lot, both located on the south side of the Bracebridge Memorial Arena, will be closed to pedestrian and vehicular traffic throughout the construction.

The Town is committed to maintaining a safe and orderly work site. While dust, noise, heavy equipment and traffic delays are intrusive, they are common elements of construction. The Town will attempt to minimize inconvenience and appreciates the public’s patience while it works to upgrading the infrastructure.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation.
