Victim Services Niagara hosts our 1st annual Black Tie Bingo fundraiser on May 18th, 2023, at Club Roma, St. Catharines, in support of Victim Services Niagara.

Victim Services Niagara (VSN) is a community based, non-profit organization which has utilized staff and highly trained volunteers to provide immediate emotional support, practical assistance, and system navigation to over 20,000 victims of crime and tragic circumstances, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week over the past 25 years.

The proceeds from this event are integral to helping Victim Services offer immediate assistance through a variety of services including: helping victims cope with the impact of crime and tragedy, providing education, and promotion of victim assistance in the community, assisting victims with system navigation and accessing appropriate support services in our community lessening the possibility of re-victimization and long term effects of trauma.

Public Notices/Announcements - Brockville/Prescott - A Free Family History Presentation May 1 on Zoom

Join us on Monday, May 1st on Zoom as we host a presentation called Finding Them on the Ground

Records such as censuses and maps can often give us the lot, concession, and township information for where our rural Ontario kin resided. However, finding those details can sometimes be a challenge. In this presentation, genealogist Ken McKinlay will be diving into those various online resources and showing us how to find those nuggets with the records. With that information we have a much better chance of finding the various Ontario land records related to their property.

Ken McKinlay is a genealogy researcher with over 20 years of trial and error experience in researching his own family’s history in Canada, United States, England, Scotland and Ireland. Ken has a genealogy related blog at Family Tree Knots (https://familytreeknots.blogspot.com/) where he shares the methodologies that he uses in his own research.

To register for this presentation visit our Branch website leedsandgrenville@ogs.on.ca for more details.
