Excitement Builds Leading Up to The 20th Annual Batawa Lions Easter Egg Hunt!


Now in its 20th year, the Batawa Lions Easter Egg Hunt is set for Saturday, April 8th
and is sure to be a great event for kids of all ages.


In addition to the Hunt, which runs from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., the event will include a
pancake breakfast, a petting zoo, a firetruck, and police car display. Infants (0) to
five (5) years old begin to hunt at 10 a.m. Ages Six (6) to Twelve (12) years old begin
searching at 11:15 a.m.


Be sure to arrive and register early as supplies are limited. The Easter Egg Hunt
itself will have enough chocolate for 700 kids on a first come first serve basis. The
breakfast and other activities are open to everyone while supplies last.
Breakfast is $8 for kids, $10 for adults and $30 for a family of four (4).

The Hunt is back after a three-year hiatus, thanks to the combined efforts of the
Batawa Lions Club, the Trenton Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC), and the
Batawa Development Corporation.

The MFRC and the Batawa Lions Club encourages families to come out to the
Batawa Community Centre at 81 Plant Street on April 8th to enjoy the excitement of
the Easter season.

Bounce Back &Thrive! (BBT) is a resiliency skills training programme designed to meet the needs of parents (and those in a parenting role) of children under the age of 8.  BBT helps parents navigate everyday stress and challenge and role model these skills in daily interactions with their children helping them and their children to bounce back and thrive. 

It is a fun, interactive program where parents will have the opportunity to learn practical tools and skills that can be applied in daily life.

Parents can attend the program either online on Wednesday evenings or in-person on Thursday mornings.

This event is now being held downtown Kingston at the Visitor Information Centre (Confederation Basin, across from City Hall).  There is no fee to attend, but donations to K4Paws are appreciated. Come enjoy an Easter egg hunt, hot coffee and hot chocolate, s’mores, story time with Peggy Collins, kids colouring, vendor fair, special guests, and more! Professional photos by advance registration. Meet K4Paws Puppies in training and support them in changing lives...4 paws at a time!

The Community Spirit Awards (CSA) recognition program is back! Residents are invited to nominate community champions who have made a significant difference in Oakville for a 2023 Community Spirit Award.

The awards have been refreshed to include broader awards categories that celebrate community members who make a difference in Oakville through volunteer efforts or acts of kindness.
