The PEMBROKE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA and guest conductor Angus Armstrong, invites you to attend our Child’s Play Concert, Saturday, March 2nd at 2pm at Festival Hall, Pembroke. The concert features Beethoven Symphony No. 5 Sportscast, Haydn’s, Toy Symphony and from Rossini – The Italian Girl in Algiers Overture. As always Children 12-and-under are FREE. Belleville Public Library's Adult Chess Club is for ages 18 and up. The club meets every second Monday (bi-weekly) at 5:30pm. Bring your own chess board or borrow one from the library and meet with fellow chess players for a friendly game. All skill levels are invited to this informal, self-led program.

Celebrate International Women’s Day 2024 with us! Belleville Public Library is excited to host trailblazing aviation professional Lola Reid Allin for a special presentation, Highway to the Sky: Women in Aviation.
Airplanes and adventure have captivated men —and women—for centuries. Despite this shared passion, men dominate the industry as airline pilots, flight instructors, maintenance and aerospace engineers, and in management positions. Discover the origins of this imbalance and why it persists, and learn how YOU can become a pilot and be part of the sea change currently happening in aviation and other STEM careers.
Lola Reid Allin Is a Commercial Airline Transport Pilot, Flight Instructor, Scuba Dive Master, and an award-winning author and photographer whose work has appeared in many notable publications (in print & online) including National Post, Globe & Mail, and National Geographic, and in national and international juried shows. Lola’s professional aviation affiliations include Women in Aviation International, The 99s: International Organization of Women Pilots, and the Northern Lights Aero Foundation.
