Community Event - Peterborough/Lindsay - Classical Benefit Concert at The Salvation Army
Enjoy a wonderful evening of music while supporting the Breakfast Program at The Salvation Army in Peterborough. Breakfast meals are provided free-of-charge five mornings a week for those who are homeless or in need. Tenor, Kenneth Beal from Wurzburg Germany, and pianist Charles Gerard, are performing the benefit concert on Thursday, August 17th at 7 p.m. at The Salvation Army in Peterborough, in memory of Kenneth's father, Lloyd Beal who volunteered countless hours to the Breakfast Program. The Program is totally funded by donations, and with the numbers of those accessing breakfast going up tremendously and coupled with the significant increase in the cost of groceries, the donation dollars are being stretched and thus the amount of food being given out has unfortunately decreased. At $20 a ticket, concertgoers will not only be treated to a moving musical performance, but will also be supporting a vital community program. For tickets, contact JoAnne Leach at 705-760-5514 or email djleach79@yahoo.ca. All ticket money and additional donations will be going directly to this much-needed service in our community. with something for everyone, it's a concert you won't want to miss!
