Community Event - Ottawa Valley - Rotary Club of Pembroke Grandbaby Calendar Contest

The Rotary Club of Pembroke is pleased to announce that it will be sponsoring a “ GRANDBABY CALENDAR CONTEST”!!  This is a fun occasion where Renfrew County Grandparents have an opportunity to show off their grandchildren born between July 01 2016 and June 30th2018 by submitting their best amateur photos in our “Grandbaby Calendar Contest”!  For a $25 entry fee the photo is submitted to compete in one of the 12 categories.  Winners will be featured in the calendar.  All entrants will have their names entered for a grand prize draw.  The entry deadline for photos is midnight August 31, 2018.

All funds raised from the calendars will be shared equally in support of the Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign as well as the Family and Children’s Services of Renfrew County to support Grandparents who are raising or acting as a parent to their grandchildren.

Beef stir fry with rice is the menu for August's dinner. The Ladies Auxiliary will also be selling their Baked Goods for your sweet desserts. Come out to Branch 12 at 2090 Brant Street ( corner of Argyle and Brant) between 4:30pm and 6pm to enjoy the dinner. All are welcome.

Community Event - Ottawa Valley - Victorian Tea

The Champlain Trail Museum and Pioneer Village is proud to announce that our annual Victorian Tea will be held on Thursday, July 19th. Come and be immersed in local historical lore and sip on a relaxing cup of tea. A light lunch, featuring a selection of sandwiches and scones, in addition to a variety of desserts will accompany the tea. We also have Zephyr joining us to share their wonderful wind melodies along with an opportunity to win door prizes and participate in a silent auction. This event is a beautiful way to begin an afternoon and we hope everyone can join us!

The tea will feature two sittings at 11:30am and 1:00pm. Anyone interested should call and book their time in advance in order to guarantee their table. The price for the Tea is $12.00 for non-members and $10.00 for members of the Ottawa Valley Historical Society, children under 9 are $6.00.  For bookings, please call 613-735-0517 to ensure that you do not miss out on this wonderful event.  

The Champlain Trail Museum and Pioneer Village is the largest Museum in Renfrew County with more than 10,000 artifacts among its collection.  Located in Pembroke, the Museum is owned and operated by the Ottawa Valley Historical Society and is funding by the municipalities of Pembroke and Laurentian Valley.
