The Park in the City Committee, with the help of community volunteers will be planting 60 native, large caliper trees and 500 pollinator wild flowers at Firemen’s Park on Friday, October 18 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.  Residents who are interested in participating can register online at www.niagarafalls.ca/pitc.  The event is part of a TD Bank grant that also enabled the committee to have 80 more trees installed at various parks that have recently received new playgrounds.  For more info, please call 905-356-7521 ext.3341 or email jguarasci@niagarafalls.ca.

Protect your pet from rabies! Local vets and Health Unit are providing Low-Cost Rabies Vaccination Clinics in the City of Kawartha Lakes on Sat., Sept. 28, from 9 am to 1 pm (unless otherwise specified). Cost is $35/animal. Please bring proof of your pet's most recent rabies vaccination if possible. No animal exams are offered. Dogs should be on leashes and cats in carriers.

The Park in the City Committee is asking residents to register online to participate in the up-coming Fall Community Clean Sweep Day taking place on Saturday, October 5 starting at Oakes Park from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.  Participants will be given complimentary safety vests, pickers, garbage/recycling bags and will be requested to clean-up debris from city parks, trails and boulevards.  Students will be able to acquire community service hours for their participation.  Registration is to be completed online at www.niagarafalls.ca/pitc.  For more info, please call 905-356-7521 ext.3341 or email jguarasci@niagarafalls.ca.
