The St. Francis de Sales Knights will be serving their next Community Roast Beef Dinner on Thursday, June 8th in the St. Francis de Sales Parish Hall (434 Second St. W.) from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM.   Complete dinner including coleslaw, dinner roll, roast beef entre, mashed potatoes, vegetable, dessert and beverage.  All are welcome.  Fully accessible hall with elevator service provided.  Adults $15.00, under 12 year $5.00.

These Community Roast Beef Dinners are presented to raise funds in support of the Knights of Columbus Council's charitable programs in the Cornwall community.

Free computer classes for adults in Microsoft Excel and Word basics at the Niagara Learning Centre in St. Catharines. Eight-morning classes starting June 27th. Held twice a week. Participants must have good keyboarding skills and be familiar with using computers. Registration is required before classes start. Contact Gail at 905-684-3500, ext. 550.

Child Haven will have a Strawberry Social fundraiser on June 11th, from 3 to 5 pm at the Benson Centre. Senator Bernadette Clement will officiate at the event and Dr. Nat Shah and Bonnie and Fred Cappuccino, who founded Child Haven in 1985, will be in attendance. Dr. Shah will be fêted for the most recent of many honours granted to him, namely, an honorary diploma for Humanitarianism, awarded to him by St. Lawrence College on June 2, 2023. Bonnie and Fred Cappuccino will be celebrated for their platinum wedding anniversary. They were married 70 years ago in 1953. 

The event will feature an update on the Child Haven homes and projects in India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Tibet-in-China. Musical entertainment will be provided by Marc Muir of Muir's Music Manor. Exotic eastern goods will be offered in a silent auction and light refreshments will be catered by Judy Stewart.
