The “Magic of Pastels” is a dry pastel group show and sale featuring original art of landscapes, portraits and still lives from Burlington Fine Art Association artists Tina Baker, Jake Bouwman, Renata Bradshaw, David Chapman, Jennifer Donolo, Sue Dzida, Susan Garofolo, Jessie Grant, Cathy Lorraway and Ann Oakley at the Fireside Lounge Gallery, located at the Art Gallery of Burlington. This long awaited show, postponed twice due to Covid, runs from May 3 – 18, 2023. The free opening, suitable for the whole family, is on May 6 from 1- 4 pm.

The Three Minute Thesis Competition (3MT®) presents Masters and Ph.D. students with the ultimate challenge: to explain their complex and highly specialized research and ideas to a general audience in just three minutes, using only one Power Point slide.

3MT® was begun at the University of Queensland in 2008 as part of an effort to encourage graduate students to develop their skills in communicating their research. It has spread to universities throughout the world with students participating in a wide range of university, regional, and international competitions.

This event is being presented by Traill College and Trent Academic Skills.
