The Hastings Prince Edward Ontario Health Team is pleased to announce the launch of COVID, Cold and Flu Care Clinics in collaboration with Quinte Health, Gateway Community Health Centre, Belleville Quinte West Community Health Centre, and other health care partners.
These clinics will help to ensure that people, regardless of age, get the right care, in the right place at the right time, while protecting hospital resources for people who require urgent care.
Clinics are available to provide afterhours care for people who:
• are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, strep, bronchitis, pneumonia, ear infection, cold or flu,
sinus infection, vomiting or diarrhea.
• have been unable to book an appointment with a primary care provider or have been referred to
the clinic by a health care professional.
• are unable to safely monitor symptoms at home.
• are at higher risk of severe illness, such as immunocompromised individuals regardless of
vaccine status.
The intent is to have these clinics available for the entire cold and flu season, or as long as they are needed based on local trends. However, because of staffing challenges in the health care sector, hours of operation and locations may change.
Visit www.hpeoht.ca to book an appointment.
St. Catharines & Regional Niagara Twinning Association & Friends presents their Annual jump up featuring Christmas music from the Twin City of Port of Spain. The word “parang” derives from the Spanish verb “parrandear” which means to go out to town and to have a good time. Parang is a popular folk music originating from Venezuela and Trinidad and Tobago, it was brought to Trinidad and Tobago by Venezuelan and Colombian migrants who were primarily of Amerindian, Spanish, Coco panyol, and African heritage, something which is strongly reflected in the music itself which will have you swaying in the blink of an eye. “Parang in Niagara” will transcend beyond having a good time and will feature Maestro & Friends Parang Band and include musical presentations by DJ Trinity Sounds, DJ Mike and DJ Dignitary Sounds. Starting at 7:00 pm with a Caribbean dinner, there will also be door prizes, raffles and other activities including complimentary "pastels" and vendor marketplace.
