Rotary Canada Day Fireworks
The Rotary Clubs of Peterborough and Peterborough Kawartha are pleased to announce that after a two year absence they will once again be hosting the Canada Day fireworks at Crary Park on Friday July 1, 2022, with financial support from the City of Peterborough. The fireworks display will take place immediately following the Peterborough Musicfest performance at approximately 9:30 pm.
“Thank you to the Rotary Clubs of Peterborough and Peterborough Kawartha for hosting the
Rotary Canada Day fireworks display as part of our community’s Canada Day celebrations. Our local Rotary Clubs contribute to so many causes in our communities such as emergency shelters, local health care organizations, food security through Kawartha Food Share, housing initiatives such as Habitat for Humanity, recreation programs such as the Rotary Greenway Trail, and more recently support for the miniature train at the Riverview Park & Zoo.
Volunteers like Rotarians help make Canada a better place,” says Diane Therrien, Mayor of the City of Peterborough.
“Covid has greatly impacted our community over the last two years. We’ve been unable to gather together; isolation and loneliness have affected many. As we head into summer however, there is a feeling of optimism that the worst may be behind us. The Rotary Clubs of Peterborough and Peterborough Kawartha wish to celebrate this new optimism as well as honouring the greatness of our country by once again hosting a fireworks display on Canada Day,” says Stephen Kylie, Rotary Canada Day Fireworks Chair.
The Rotary Clubs of Peterborough and Peterborough Kawartha look forward to joining Peterborough Musicfest on the Fred Anderson stage for the fireworks countdown and would also like to thank the City of Peterborough for providing financial support for this event.
