Community Event - Cornwall - Tri-County Literacy Council
Free certificate program, 'Bullet Journaling' offered in partnership with the Cornwall Public Library. Fun and interactive training, organizing your way to success! Live a more productive, happy, or meaningful life. Unleash your creativity while reaching your goals. Track your habits to encourage personal growth. In-person classes will run from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for 6 weeks, starting on January 20, 2022. To register, call Tri-County Literacy Council at 613-932-7161. We hope to see you there!
Community Event - Cornwall - Youth Volunteers Needed to Assist in Training
Youth volunteers (aged 15 to 29 years of age) are needed to assist instructors in a training for seniors titled "Mental Gymnastics". This training focuses on improving cognitive functioning. As a youth mentor you will assist the instructor in many ways including:
- Helping seniors solve puzzles quizzes
- Teaching seniors fun new board games
Please apply if you feel you:
- Enjoy working with others while interacting with seniors
- Have good inter-personal skills: friendly, out-going, patient, and courteous
- Can maintain confidentiality
- Are punctual and dependable

Community Event - Cornwall - FREE Training for Seniors: Mental Gymnastics
Tri-County Literacy Council, in partnership with Riverdale Terrace and Cornwall Legion, is offering local seniors a free hands-on course called Mental Gymnastics intended to improve cognitive functions. This new course will cover topics like what is memory and how it works, forgetfulness, brain health, and memory strategies. This 6-week course will run one day a week on Wednesdays from January 26th to March 2nd and will be offered in two locations: Cornwall Legion in the morning and Riverdale Terrace in the afternoon. Seniors with computer skills may prefer to register for the online version of the course.
