Community Event - Sarnia - Coldest Night of the Year 2021 - Looking for Teams
NeighbourLink Sarnia-Lambton, serving Sarnia and Lambton County for 27 years, is encouraging Sarnia residents to bundle up and raise cold, hard cash for The Coldest Night of the Year (WALK) - for the 4th year in a row. Although the walk will look a bit different in 2021 because of the covid guide lines - Thousands of participants will be taking part in the covid aware socially distanced WALK in an anticipated 110+ cities across Canada. By walking in the chill of the night, participants will better understand the experience of being on the streets during a cold Canadian winter, while raising funds to aid the work of NeighbourLink Sarnia-Lambton
Here is why we walk - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IaqN6kc6GTI
The Sarnia WALK begins and ends at The Sarnia Christian School, at 1273 Exmouth St, corner of Pontiac Drive and Exmouth Street. But teams of up to 10 walkers can select their own routes more suitable for them during this covid season. Donning iconic toques, on one of the evenings between February 8 and February 20, participants will walk a 2km or 5km route, warming up with toasty drinks at covid aware rest stops, or in drink dispensers they have brought with them, along the way.
Although the walk may appear a bit different in 2021 the goal remains the same - partner with NeighbourLink Sarnia-Lambton and touch lives in need. Over the past 3 years walkers and sponsors have raised well over $55,000.00 assisting in reaching out to many people across Sarnia and Lambton County. WOW!
Lets not let this covid season stop us from teaming up and sharing our love. We cannot do this alone - "Its COLD OUT THERE"
