Community Event - Windsor/Leamington - Art Race - In support of The Kidney Foundation

The Kidney Foundation of Canada and Asaph Maurer Art proudly present 'Art Race 2020'.

In response to COVID-19 and as a way to still create events during this new world situation, we invite you to tune in to Facebook Live on Thursday, November 12 to watch this one-of-a-kind event and subsequent auction.

The evening will be emceed by Dan MacDonald of The Dan MacDonald Show (AM 800 CKLW) and deejayed by Alley Kay.

Award-winning artist Asaph Maurer has selected a team of the city's top professional artists as well as some promising emerging talent. These ten artists will all gather together to battle against the clock during one hour of concentrated creativity to each make one original artwork. Each finished piece of art will then go up for auction. We will then set a minimum bid for each artwork and we welcome you to bid generously to support the valuable work of The Kidney Foundation.

The artists have all donated their time to make this event a success. The professional artists will be familiar names to many. These are artists who create art as a career, have won awards, are represented by galleries and have sold their artwork for years. Additionally, the emerging talent are what we believe is the new wave of future professionals in the industry. This is your chance to acquire quality pro-artwork at below market prices and artwork that may turn into a great investment down the road.

The artwork will be on display for one week at the Downtown Windsor Business Accelerator (1501 Howard Ave., Windsor) if you want to take a peek in person before you finalize your bid. All bidding takes place online and the auction closes on Thursday, November 19 at 12:00pm. Stay tuned to this page for auction rules, featured artists and more.

The expenses for the event have been covered by one of our amazing sponsors - Rob and Deb Armitage of RE/MAX Preferred Realty Co., therefore, 100% of the funds raised will go directly to The Kidney Foundation of Canada, Windsor & District Chapter.

The Kidney Foundation of Canada is the national, volunteer-led organization committed to reducing the burden of kidney disease. This is done through funding programs and services for people living with kidney disease, critical kidney-related research, promoting kidney health and organ donation awareness, and much more.

We can't wait to *VIRTUALLY* see you there and thank you in advance for your generous support.
