Join us on Monday, March 9th at 7:00 pm for our monthly meeting of Leeds & Grenville Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society. Larry Winters has retired after a career as an elementary school teacher and principal in area schools.  He is active in the Lions Club and in sports including playing hockey and golf.  He has always had a deep interest in history.

He will be telling interesting stories about family experiences including how one branch of the family stayed in Eastern Ontario while one branch "went West". They reconnected recently and held a family reunion including American relatives.  He has many other stories as well as pictures and a unique paper family tree scroll. Our meetings are held in the Brockville Museum, 5 Henry Street in Brockville. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Public Notices/Announcements - Windsor/Leamington - Leamington Public Information Centre

The Municipality of Leamington has retained Dillon Consulting Limited to undertake a study to improve municipal drainage infrastructure in Southwest Leamington to support development in the area. The study is considering current drainage challenges, upgrades required and new infrastructure. A combined sanitary and storm water sewer currently collects both household sewage and rainfall runoff within the existing developed area. This study is also evaluating the potential to separate the sewers, which has a number of environmental and cost benefits.

Public consultation is important to the success of the study. A Public Information Centre (PIC) is being held to provide stakeholders and the public an opportunity to obtain background information, meet the project team, and provide feedback. The PIC will be held on Wednesday, February 26 from 4pm to 7pm (Drop in/Open House format) at Leamington Kinsmen Recreation Complex, 249 Sherk Street.
