Do you want to start 2020 saving money and eating healthy? Then come out to Chatham-Kent Public Library’s Healthy Eating on a Budget on Tuesday, January 7 at 6:30 pm. Come learn how you can slim your waistline and fatten your wallet! This program is partnership with CK Public Health. Registration is not required.

Healthy Eating on a Budget is part of the Adulting 101 program series at Chatham-Kent Public Library. We recognize that being an adult can be hard. This an opportunity for adults (16+) to come together and learn different life skills in a fun and welcoming environment.

Adulting 101 programs will take place on the first Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm in the Chatham Branch, Meeting Room.

and events held across Windsor and Essex County. This year’s theme for

Crime Stoppers month is “Creating Partnerships Against Crime". 

 

The foundation of Crime Stoppers is the partnership between the community,

law enforcement, partnering agencies and the media. Crime Stoppers works

to educate the public, create awareness and provide citizens the opportunity

to report suspicious or criminal activity anonymously.

 

Crime Stoppers encourages everyone to “Say it Here” to assist law enforcement solve crime.

CAP Money is a money management course that teaches people budgeting skills and a simple, cash-based money management system that really works. This 4 week course will help anyone to get more control over their finances, so that they can save, give and prevent debt. Offered locally by Gregory Drive Alliance Church but developed by debt counselling charity, Christians Against Poverty, the course is designed for anyone. Whether they struggle to make ends meet or are comfortable financially, it will give people a new found freedom in their finances.

Community Event - Chatham - RentSmart - Landlord Course

Tenants want a safe, suitable and affordable home to rent. Landlords want tenants to pay the rent on time, take care of the property and be a good neighbor. RentSmart is an innovative program that supports landlords and tenants toward successful tenancies. This education program is offered through a unique partnership between the Municipality of Chatham-Kent and the Chatham-Kent Landlord Association; 'Tenant' courses are offered by the municipality and 'Landlord' course by the Association. The next Landlord course is being offered Sat Feb 8, 2020 9:30-1:00. The session will be held at the Chatham Public Library. Fees: $0 for Association members, $75 for non-members.
