Trivia Night, October 18th at 7:00 pm at the Armenian Hall, 156 Martindale Rd, St. Catharines On.  Tickets are $20. each or a table of 8 for $150.00.  (includes pizza and snacks). The winning table receives a bottle of red and a bottle of white wine per person.  There are many expensive doors prizes and a raffle for a wine fridge filled with wine, the Rankin Box plus Niagara Ice Dog Tickets for a game, a luxurious quilt, and a large maple item filled basket.  There will also be a 50/50 draw.  Tickets are available through Connie at 905 646 1798 or Bonnie at 905 934 3706.  All are welcome, we hope to see you there!

Réservez la date dans vos calendriers! La 23e édition de la Franco-Foire aura lieu le samedi, 19 octobre 2019 de 10 h à 14 h au Thompson Drill Hall (BFC Kingston), 7, rue d’Artisan à Kingston. Un événement festif et décontracté, la Franco-Foire a pour but de faire découvrir gratuitement les produits et services offerts en français aux francophones, francophiles et amateurs de la culture française dans la région de Kingston et les Mille-Îles. Cette année, les personnes intéressées auront la chance de gagner une tablette dernière génération ou un bracelet moniteur d’activités. La Franco-Foire est l’événement parfait pour s’amuser en famille tout en découvrant les services disponibles en français dans la communauté. Il y aura parmi ces activités une petite foire d’emploi bilingue pour les chercheurs d’emploi qui parlent français, une scène de démonstrations de 11 h à 13 h 30 (incluant une présentation de Little Rays Reptiles et un spectacle de marionnettes), une zone d’activités pour enfants, le Chip Truck Fryway 33 et plus encore !

Community Event - Peterborough/Lindsay - Tom Symons: A Canadian Life as Told by his Files

Peterborough Historical Society public lecture.  A remarkable Canadian and resident of Peterborough, Tom Symons, founding President of Trent University and author of To Know Ourselves: The Report of the Commission on Canadian Studies, was in the forefront of multiple critical issues, including Indigenous rights, human rights, language rights and heritage preservation. Speakers are Bob Taylor-Vaisey, retired corporate archivist and senior document management consultant for Imperial Oil Limited, who has been organizing T.H.B. Symons' files for transfer to Trent University, and Kathryn Matheson, a graduate of the Frost Centre for Canadian Studies and Indigenous Studies at Trent University, and currently Researcher and Administrative Coordinator for Professor Symons.
