Giant CD Sale
OCTOBER 2 - 5, 2019

The first donation consists of approximately 8,000 CDs, which have been collected over the past 25 years. Jazz, country, blues, and rock are the primary musical genres. The other donation comes from a prominent supporter of the Kingston Symphony whose 2,000 CDs reflect his passion for classical music. This sale is in addition to the Vinyl Records Sale. The Gaetane Harvey Memorial Walk is a little event with a BIG heart! It is a community of people coming together, strangers becoming friends, feet on pavement, kilometers logged, funds being raised and making a difference no matter how big or small. We celebrate the lives of so many people that have been touched by cancer. I hope this walk empowers others to turn their grief, sadness or helplessness into something beautiful and meaningful. Please join my sisters and me in the 2019 Gaetane Harvey Memorial Walk on Saturday, September 21 and Sunday, September 22, 2019. A 53 KM walk throughout the streets of Belleville over the course of two days while raising funds to improve cancer care at Belleville General Hospital. 8:30am Registration at Zwicks Park. For info go to www.bghf.ca

A little about our lodge; The Grand Lodge of the Elks of Canada instituted the North Bay Elks Lodge #25 in 1914, which means the Lodge has 105 years in North Bay. The Lodge history is somewhat blurry, but in 1934 during the Great Depression, the charter was surrendered due to a both a lack of funds and members. In August of 1953 our Lodge requested to be reinstated and in 1954 The Grand Lodge of Canada granted our request and we received our charter effective 1953, with the same Lodge #25. In the mid 50’s our members put together a financial plan to obtain property and build a Lodge with revenue abilities. In 1959 the small hall opened for business. During this period construction continued on the large hall and members quarters. It has now been 60 years since our Lodge has been open and operating. Grant Devine, one of our long-time members, worked on the construction of our Lodge and he and his wife Shirley had their wedding reception here. Grant and Shirley are celebrating their 60th anniversary this year and Grant lights up every time he walks into the small hall as it holds a life time of memories for him. Our current membership is proud of what was started and what we have been able to maintain.
We hope that you and your family will consider joining us to celebrate this milestone in our building and our memories of 60 years.
Sincerely,
Brian Krauskopf – President/ Exalted Ruler
