Community Event - Peterborough/Lindsay - Abraham Festival welcomes the Knitting Pilgrim
The 21st Abraham Festival, Sept. 13 to 15, will welcome Kirk Dunn, the Knitting Pilgrim, as he shares his 15-year journey of knitting three beautiful tapestries in the style of stained-glass windows demonstrating the common threads of the Abrahamic faiths: Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
At the end of his presentation, the stunning tapestries will be unveiled to the audience.
The one-hour show will be followed by a 30 to 45-minute talkback.
The Festival begins with Jummah prayers and sermon Sept. 13 at 1 p.m. at St. James United Church, followed by Shabaat at 6 p.m. at Beth Israel Synagogue.
On Sept. 15, there will be a Christian service at 10:30 a.m. at St. James United Church, with a vegetarian potluck lunch at noon; music, tribute to Helen McCarthy, (co-founder of the Abraham Festival), presentation of this year’s Hospitality Award at 1 p.m, and Dunn’s show at 2 p.m.
All events are by donation.
