Belleville Choral Society’s next concert will be on May 13, 2023 at 2 pm with the doors at  St Matthew’s United Church 25 Holloway St, opening at 1:30.  Entitled ‘MY SONG’, the performance is a choral tribute to our heritage - celebrating loves lost, loves found and unknown strengths. Admission is by donation with $20 per person most appreciated.  Directed by Heather Christiansen and accompanied by Tom Dietzel, the choir will perform music from across the decades including the world premiere of a Jeanette Arsenault choral arrangement.  The Best of Broadway Trio (Kim Dafoe, Anita Halfpenny, Susan McCourt)  will add their special touch to this Mother’s Day Weekend performance.

Thanks to the City of Belleville for the 2022 Arts Grant that allowed the choir to purchase new music for this performance, and to St. Matthew’s for sponsoring the venue.   Masks are optional.

Since 1990, Canadians from across the country have come together both literally and figuratively to support their fellow human by taking part in the Parkinson Canada SuperWalk.

They have raised funds and done an immeasurable job of spreading the word and advocating for those within the Parkinson community. To date, the SuperWalk has raised over $40 million to fuel research, support tools, and advocacy.

For example, in 2022, the Lanark-North Leeds SuperWalk brought in over $80,000 in donations and sponsorships to Parkinson Canada. This contributions, allowed us to fund support groups in Lanark, Perth, & Almonte, advocacy efforts within government, and research and other projects such as this new E-Care app: https://www.parkinson.ca/digital-health-application
