Community Event - Ottawa Valley - The Lunch Bunch by Seniors at Home
A full course luncheon event at Jim's Restaurant on Wednesday, March 1st from 1pm till 3pm. Choice of sandwiches Ham and Cheese or Sliced Turkey. Entertainment by Karl and Linda Dregischan. Starting Monday, February 20th
Beat the winter blahs by thinking about spring. Join Tri-County Literacy Council's three-week landscape training program. Learn about plants, soil preparation, garden design and so much more. Enjoy a site visit and listen to guest speakers as they share their personal experiences. Whether you join for sheer enjoyment or to seek employment, this course is meant for you.
The following is what one learner said about the program: "When I first came into this course, I didn't know much about landscaping and plants. This course helped me learn the difference between perennial and annual plants, as well as their hardiness zone. Thanks to my instructor, I have gained a lot of knowledge about how to take care of plants and flowers. Community Event - Windsor/Leamington - $10 Pasta/Salad dinner at Moose Lodge
The REMARKABLE KIDS is a team of children registered for the Coldest Night of the Year walk. Come out to the MOOSE LODGE on Tuesday Feb 7th from 4-7 to help the kids raise money for their team.
The Moose Lodge is donating back the $10 from every dinner sold to the REMARKABLE KIDS team.
If you have a child that would like to join our team you can sign them up on the Coldest Night of the Year website

Community Event - Peterborough/Lindsay - Five Counties Winterfest 2023
Winterfest will include virtual events and offers lots for. In-person events will happen on the Family Day weekend in Peterborough and Lindsay, capped by a Peterborough Petes’ home game on Family Day Monday. There’s also an online auction, a variety of fun, family-friendly events, and new in 2023 a creative ‘thank you card’ contest for kids kicking off on Feb. 1.
• February 1-28 – Winterfest kicks off with the first-ever ‘Thank You Card Contest’ for Kids. Help Five Counties show appreciation to its supporters by writing words, creating a drawing, or colouring a picture that says, ‘thank you.’ Kids can enter to win prizes, and one child’s artwork will be selected and featured on Five Counties thank you cards. Find contest rules and colouring sheet samples on the Five Counties website.
• February 16-21 – Check out the many Winterfest Virtual Events available, including a workout with the Peterborough Petes, winter scavenger hunt, story times, baking demo, snow creature contest, magic show and colouring contest.
• February 16-21 – Winterfest gears up with its Online Auction featuring a selection of hand-made quilts, artisanal wood items, gift cards, kids’ toys, and more. Register to join the bidding.
• February 18 – See you in-person for fun, family-friendly Winterfest activities set for Lansdowne Place (645 Lansdowne St. W.) in Peterborough from 10 am to 2 pm.
• February 19 – Check out the fabulous Winterfest festivities coming to Lindsay Square Mall (401 Kent St. W.) in Lindsay from 10 am to 2 pm.

This special event features scarves (many new with tags still on), jewelry and purses. Please come and support the May Court who for 90 years has been supporting children's charities in Windsor and Essex County. We are a volunteer organization and all proceeds go to help children in the community.
