Community Event - Burlington/Oakville - Volunteer Drivers Desperately Needed in Oakville
Volunteer drivers desperately needed in Oakville and the entire area to drive cancer patients to their treatment.
- Very heartwarming experience, the people are really appreciative and grateful for a stranger helping them out
- You get to make a difference in someone’s life and help people in your own community!
- Variety of reasons why people use the Wheels of Hope – Not supposed to drive after cancer treatment, no car, no license. Family members or friends work during the day or they may not have a vehicle.
- We have found if people can’t get to their treatment, they don’t go
Requirements:
- Be available Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm with either 1 or ½ a day a week or even a few days a month
- Volunteers must be at least double vaccinated for Covid19 and wear a mask while driving their client
- Willing to undergo a criminal back ground check
- Valid drivers license with 3 or less demerits
- Operate a 100% smoke free, clean and well maintained vehicle
