Paddle Poker Returns to Front of Yonge!

Registration is now open for the second annual event at Brown’s Bay

 

MALLORYTOWN, ONTARIO– Get your paddles ready for a fun event on the beautiful waters of the St. Lawrence River! The Township of Front of Yonge is hosting the second annual Paddle Poker Run on Saturday September 17th 2022 at Brown’s Bay.

The Paddle Poker Run is an event that will encourage people to get outside to celebrate and enjoy the St. Lawrence River. All river-appropriate paddle craft are welcome (kayak, canoe, etc.) This is not a race, but a fun paddle that all ages and abilities can enjoy. Each paddler will follow a route beginning at Brown’s Bay that includes at least five stops or check points where they will draw a playing card. After the paddle, there will be prizes for the best poker hand. There will be routes set up for beginners and for experienced paddlers ranging from 5km to 10km.

  • The Township of Front of Yonge is hosting a Paddle Poker Run on September 17th 2022 beginning at 8AM at Brown’s Bay (Inclement weather “rain” date September 18th)
  • Participants must register in advance - single registration is $11.62 and family entry is $27.54

  • The organizing committee would like to acknowledge the support of the St. Lawrence Parks Commission in providing the venue for this event.
  • Participants must bring their own river-appropriate paddlecraft and register online prior to the event.

The Near North Palliative Care Network is hosting the Grand Parade for the first time in North Bay! The Grand Parade is a family-fun charity walk happening on September 17th, with all funds raised going directly towards helping to fund the NNPCN's FREE palliative, bereavement, and caregiving respite services in the community. We meet at the Veterans Soccer Field at 10:00am; the full schedule can be found at thegrandparade.org/location/northbay .

Gather your friends and family and register for FREE at thegrandparade.org/register under North Bay. Pledges can be made online or in-person, it's super easy!
