Enjoy a free guided walk with blue marble learning scene along a section of the KnP trail in Kingston, Ontario. Registration is required
Your guide Tara will talk to you about wetlands, birds, reptiles, biodiversity, hydrology, and more as you enjoy nature along the K&P trail.
We have selected this section of the K&P trail as it has ponds, rivers, and wetlands all within a short distance. These ecosystems are home to many different birds, reptiles, and mammals that we may get to see along the walk. We cannot guarantee you will see any specific animal as they are living their own lives in this little nature paradise within the city.
The total walking distance will be approximately 2 km (1 km there and 1 km back on the same trail) along a well groomed gravel trail.
This walk is great for families, individuals, and anyone looking to spend some time outside and interested in learning something new. Recommended for individuals over 7 years of age.

The Northumberland Affordable Housing Committee (NAHC) is encouraging the citizens of Northumberland to be well informed when electing their Provincial Member of Parliament and invite you to attend the All Candidates Meeting they are hosting on Thursday May 26th at 8:30am at the Salvation Army Community Church.
The NAHC is stressing the importance of discussing critical housing affordability issues with candidates. “Access to safe, stable and affordable housing is becoming more and more challenging for members of our community. Investments to increase the supply of affordable housing are necessary to address the housing crisis in Ontario, driving positive social and economic outcomes as we emerge from the pandemic,” said Meaghan Macdonald, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity Northumberland. “It is for this reason that, as members of the Northumberland Affordable Housing Committee, we think it is so important to ensure that an all candidates meeting focused on affordable housing solutions is part of the upcoming provincial election campaign. We encourage everyone in Northumberland County to register to vote and to take advantage of all opportunities to be informed about each candidates’ solutions to address the housing crisis in our community.”
Each level of government plays an important role in the development of all housing types. The Federal Government’s National Housing Strategy offers several programs and initiatives to make rental and homeownership more affordable. Our communities need to hear candidates views on the strategy and how they will ensure Northumberland has what it needs to offer some relief to the current housing crisis.
